Oops
The impersonation of ones self can be a route to self discovery.
Or just a cluster cuss right before registration.
Well, if you’re here it’s because you probably clicked a link or were otherwise digging around trying to figure out what the deal is with registration this year.
Story Time
May 3 I did my normal check of the Facebook dumpster fire and had a notification about the VWs at the Spring page being unpublished. I thought that to be odd, so I went and had a look. After clicking around the world’s most counterintuitive interface, I discovered that our page had been unpublished for going against the “Community Standards on account integrity and authentic identity.”
Which is super vague and probably the least helpful thing in the whole world. The only option was to request a review, which I did immediately.
And here we are four weeks later. Slapping a blog page onto our registration website so I can explain to everyone what’s going on.
Let’s Talk Registration
This year we’ll be doing registration in the same way we always have.
Registration will open on June 10th at 8am. The map is mostly unchanged from last year, as are the available spots. As with everything else, prices have gone up slightly, but that’s primarily to cover increases in costs for payment processing and website hosting.
We’ll be relying mostly on word of mouth this year whilst we try to figure out what to do with the whole “impersonation of ones self” thing we’ve got going on.
